Beeman Excavating is a family owned and operated Excavating company based out of Dekalb, Illinois. It was started by Tim Beeman and his sons, Cody and Lucas Beeman, in 2016.
The Beeman family has always been involved in construction. Tim’s dad, Gary, was a building inspector and home builder. The passion for all three came from their love of big equipment and eagerness towards shaping and building new things. Tim started this obsession in high school and planted it in both of his boys since they could walk and talk.

These project’s range from home additions and sewer and water installs, to large 1,000,000 sqft + commercial property developments. His role includes running jobs in the field, lead estimator, operator, and chief operations officer.
Cody has grown up around the industry. From running around large commercial developments as soon as he could walk, to learning to operate equipment before he was big enough to register as an operator in the seat of the machine. After high school he went to Kishwaukee College to earn a certificate in diesel and power equipment repair. Cody has implemented his knowledge of growing up in the industry and mechanical training into the business with his dad and brother. Cody has taken on responsibilities including managing our fleet, running jobs, and operating equipment daily as the V.P. of the company.
Lucas has grown up in the industry, running equipment for as long as he can remember. He graduated high school in 2020 and onboarding full time with the company. Lucas has since taken on a role in the office with bookkeeping, estimating, and is our in-house technology expert.
